Air Restrictor Mod For Nerf Flipfury

$

Hi I looked at the Mod Directory for Flipfury mods and the one you guys have is a lock removal, seal upgrade and dead space mod. But I wanted to know if someone could send me specific instructions or a video on how to take out the Air Restrictors on a Nerf Flipfury.

Thanks, NB16

Do Tamiya motors work better if the batteries are in Parallel?

Hello all.

I have recently ordered some Tamiya Torque tuned Motors, and I was reading up on them and found out that they require 3v and require 3-6 amps each/

I was wondering if I'm using AAs, is wiring up two AAs in parallel enough amperage for the motors?

Worker Diamond Flywheel Install

Hi All,

I'm having real trouble getting the blue diamond cut worker flywheels onto a set of Extreme XP Pro 180s. I've tried pushing them on by hand but ended up pushing the motor shaft and brushes out the back of the motor housing, repaired that. So then I tried hot water on the rubber inserts to soften them but still no luck. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas, I've not had this problem before but these are the first diamond cut flywheels I've used and their going into a cantilevered cage.

My only other idea is to try and use a g clamp and wined it down very slowly to push them on but should I really be needing to apply that much force?

WIP Tripple strike overhaul

... Sorry about the washed out photos. Those are gross looking.

My current WIP: overhauling a Triple strike. My nerfing group allows shields which encourages a broader range of ammo types (rockets break shields) so I've wanted an all in one blaster that can handle long range, short range and rockets, all available on demand on separate triggers. After much searching, I've settled on the tripple strike. The tanks are beastly, out performing both the big salvo and panther tanks I had in my parts bin.

Work done thus far:

*Replaced the stock pump with a 16" bicycle frame pump. (Fills every thing in about 5-7 pumps)

*Scrapped the stock trigger manifold.

scrapped a tank, integrated a SMDTG. Had to chop all 4 hoses and re coupler them to pass them through the shell, but I can stage 3 independent shots ergonomically.

*Routed the 2 remaining TS tanks to blast buttons. (One behind the shaved down trigger (that will be the top primary tank), the other is zip tied on the right side, just above the trigger (that right tank will fire a rocket)

*Re-plumbed every thing. Soooo many quick connect fittings were used in the process. Each tank system has it's own check valve (the couplers with the pink ends) so they can vent/fire without firing the other systems as well. The single pump automatically routes air any empty tank systems. Surprisingly, the thing actually holds air!

Work remaining:

*Design a mag fed breech for the top tank. I could use a hopper, but my group favors full length darts. I'm hoping to design a breech that springs open after the tank fires (via a mechanical latch), and rig the pump to close the breech on the first pump stroke. That way, loading the next dart would be integrated with re pumping the tank instead of reloading as a separate action.

*Stabilize the tanks. They have a little bit of wobble after gutting it.

*design an enclosure to hide the rear plumbing.

Once it's all done, theirs a small chance that I might actually feel motivated to paint the shell. I'm usually not much for aesthetics, but that chrome pump is dang gorgeous.

Scepter operating PSI

Does anyone know what kind of PSI the Battlemax bladder puts out? By banding an RF20 bladder with two layers of bike inner tube, I have only been able to get it up to about 50 PSI, and I need more.

I recently took apart a old DVD player and found out that the on/off switch is similar to a switch used in a top shelf mod I plan on putting my switch into my modded rayven but I am not going to do that until I know if it can handle a 3S LiPo and how to install it into my rayven here is a picture of the switch the switch says 250 V

For a while now, I was thinking about a worthy mod for a long strike. They are getting rarer, so you can't just smash on paint and done.

Check it out, let me know what you think (and if there is a way to embed the video, let me know):

So my first pro mod! The doublespringed nite finder. It was my idea but my 12 year old bro did it but it is very powerful. My only concern is the internals breaking though. The power may shorten its lifetime but is great anyway. The parts I scrapped was from a wii remote gun spring and thats about it.

New Fang Revamped Motors

I was going to get the Neo Rhino motors until the Fang Revamped motors came out. Since I've spent $200 modding my stryfe, I really don't want to buy a lipo & charger when I have IMR's already. My question is, can I run the Fang Revamped motors on 3 IMR's & a dummy?? 4 IMR's?? I know it's not recommended but I don't plan on entering any games soon. Maybe 1 day I will go with my son. Also, what's the pros & cons of 3 or 4 IMR's vs the 2s lipo?

Thanks!

Brass/Aluminum Guids

I have seen brass guides increase accuracy with a small loss of FPS using 9/16ths. Has anyone built a brass breach using 19/32 which is slightly larger??. 9/16 is .5626 vs 19/32 is .5938.
I'm planning on running the new Fang motors in a OFP 42mm cage with a guide, if that helps.

Thanks!

I will let you guys decide on which weapon for me to mod. The reason for this is my lack of nerf gun modding knowledge. If anyone knows something its you guys. I know its a lot to want to mod but I dont know how to pick one or at most, five. That is why I am putting this on here to know how to mod a gun and which one to do. I will also take suggestions for the future for the next most commented gun.

Technically, it's not about Nerf blasters - although there is one in there - so you'll just have to use your imagination.

Slingfire mod guide writeup

http://imgur.com/Ul9SVmY
First post lets go. By the way, this is all done post mortem, so I have no before photos, just after photos.

Tools-
A drill with up to a 9/16 bit
A #1 screwdriver
A Dremel
a pair of side cutters)
A rotary pipe cutter
A file
A hammer
Epoxy putty
adhesive
A penknife
a pair of needle-nose pliers

Materials-
A slingfire
Small screws
A spring of your choice(dont go above a 6kg load) that is the same dimensions or smaller as the stock slingfire spring
Some 9/16 brass
Some 17/32 brass
Felt pads
A standard nerf barrel attachment point of your choice
if you can find an o-ring that fits the plunger head get that too
e-tape

Lets go
this first part will cover performance mods, the second part will cover the aesthetics mods I did
Take apart your slingfire, the first thing you want to do is take Apart the gearbox, remove the lever. First thing we are gonna do is lock the clutch. Drill four holes in the clutch, two through the teeth, and two on either side ninety degrees from the ones you drilled through the teeth, either countersink those holes before you put screws in, or use a file or Dremel to grind down the screws after. Screw your small screws in, and cut off the part that hangs out on the bottom, and if you didnt countersink your holes, grind down the heads enough so it will fit in the gearbox without rubbing. Should look like this-
http://imgur.com/qelG3Vu
http://imgur.com/kvY2xnj
Next thing you wanna do is take apart the boltsled-bolt assembly. Drill out the ar and dart post, and then bore out the bolt with the 9/16 drill bit. Do it slowly so you dont wreck it. Fit your 9/16 brass in, cut itwith the rotary pipe cutter, and then glue it in. Wait for the glue to set and then get your Dremel. Dremel the brass flush with the thinnest part but DONT DREMEL PAST THE PART WHERE IT GETS TO A HALFPIPE, THIS IS ESSENTIAL FOR A GOOD AIR SEAL. After youve done that, stick a magazine with a dart in there and slide a piece of 17/32 down the muzzle until it sits flush with the inside of the magazine, put your bolt and boltsled but not the plunger tube in and slide it all the way back, get a look at how much space there is between the end of the dart and the beginning of the brass. Dremel the brass flush with the halfpipe up to that point. Check it again and repeat until you can slide the bolt back all the way and the dart springs into the breach. When you are done, your breach should look like this
http://imgur.com/Pb2lxBD
Next you want to take the bolt out. Slide a dart into the breach, then slide a piece of 17/32 into the back of the breach until the head of the dart is sticking out, this is to seat the dart into the front of the breach, providing a better air seal. Mark the 17/32, and then cut it with the rotary pipe cutter. Us the pliers to flair the edge of the 17/32 you just cut in to create a dart stop. Glue it into the back of the breach.
http://imgur.com/Ym1HAU1
Now for the plunger tube. Somehow remove the orange lip on the plunger tube. Take the plunger rod and if you got an o-ring, now is the time to install it. Then take your padding and cut it to size, then glue it on to the plunger head. Grease it and put it back in the plunger tube

Now take your trigger out. Bust out the Dremel again and shave down the top front and the bottom back of the slot that the bolt sled slides through. You want to shave it down until you can deprime the blaster. It should look something like this-
http://imgur.com/beOGbsh
http://imgur.com/Lgadhzd
Now take a look at the front of the breach, take the muzzle and the receiver out and remove everything from it until you just have the green plastic piece. Put the green piece back in the shell and take a piece of 17/32 and, with a magazine in push it down the barrel until it is flush with the inside of the magazine. Mark about two inches in front of the green piece. Cut it at the mark. Wrap e-tape around it until it is snug in the green piece while still being flush with the inside of the magazine. Now mix up a small amount of epoxy putty and put it in the hole that the dart door occupied, it should look like this-
http://imgur.com/IF6Ib1r
Now take a 4 inch piece of 9/16 and Dremel slots parallel with the tube all the way around about a half inch from the bottom, this is to disperse muzzle blast. See the science behind this here- http://nerfhaven.com/forums/topic/28050-on-the-topic-of-scar-barrels/. Glue this onto the front of the 17/32 brass with the longer section of brass facing out, make sure the slots are ahead of the end of the 17/32. It should look like this
http://imgur.com/BiV0cg5
Assemble the bolt sled-breach assembly. Mix up some epoxy putty, and put it into the boltsled like this-
http://imgur.com/m14DU8o
http://imgur.com/D8Yg9iF
Put all the internals back in the blaster. Put your upgrade spring in at this time, I used a cut down Magnus spring as well as the stock spring. You are done! Reassemble your slingfire and wreak lever action havoc on your enemies or your siblings if you live in Minnesota and there are no wars near you:(

Second part go!!!
This will cover aesthetics mods I did.
First off, moving the mag release. I dont like the slingfire mag release. Its too far forward for me, so I moved it back. taking a look at it, you should see how it was done
http://imgur.com/orMffTV
http://imgur.com/7vr3xzF
http://imgur.com/ASPLJjW
Next- n-strike barrel attachment point. Open the shell, and take out the muzzle. JUST THE MUZZLE.now shell cutting. Use a pair of side cutters or a Dremel and cut off the first screw port. Like this
http://imgur.com/wkOl4ec
Now take your n-strike attachment point, cut it down to fit in the hole youve just made. Mix up some epoxy putty, and epoxy it in place like this.
http://imgur.com/LUjMpAo
Now lets make it internal magazine fed. You may ask, why do this? I am not in possession of a lot of magazines and have like no money to buy any from China or wherever. Also, its more realistic if you want to do extensive aesthetics mods to make it look like an actual Henry rifle. First things first take whatever mag you want to use, and cut the lip so it looks like this-
http://imgur.com/RqjbHhY
Now more shell cutting- cut out the jam door port so it looks like this-
http://imgur.com/gq0SAzs
Now take the bolt, cut off the skinny bit about a quarter inch in out from where it widens. It should look like this.
http://imgur.com/8xz8doU
Now you have a internal magazine fed, modular blaster that can deliver the hits. Have fun, kick ass, and fuck shit up.

Hi All,

I'm looking for a wiring diagram for a Stryfe with 2 switches running a XSW auto kit. Not a link to MBT video on Youtube, I've seen that.

If anyone has one or could point me to a link to one, that would be great.

many thanks

how profitable would selling modified blasters on Ebay be?

$
0
0

So I've been looking around on Ebay and I've noticed a lot of listings that say something like "modified nerf blaster" or "custom painted nerf gun" and so on. They also tend to be low-tier blasters too, like retaliators/recons and nitefinders/firestrikes, so i assume these listings are marketed towards cos-players or non nerfers. They tend to be much more costly than their stock counterparts, obviously. Anyone on NH have any experience selling blasters like this? I assume the best way to go about this would be to focus solely on cosmetics, like doing little or no modding to the blaster other than painting it, and using a cheap blaster to maximize profit.

could selling a few purpose-built blasters like this be worthwhile or a waste of time?

Hammershot Modification

Hey I know there is a Hammershot mod on here to remove the AR's but I here it is a bad unnecessary mod. So I already have a Hammershot with a 7kg spring removed barrel posts and a removed AR, I did the AR removal before I found out about it's uselessness. But I wanna know what is the best performance upgrade I can do on the Hammershot without breaking it or spending 100 bucks. I heard people say to just use pvc pipe or a 8 kg spring but I don't know which is better or if there is something better. But take into consideration that I suck at modding and I am A noob.

Thanks NerfBeginner16

What Elite Alpha Trooper XD mod should I do?

Hi I am a noob I have an orange Elite XD Alpha Trooper. Elite Alpha Troopers are really expensive now. I am a noob and I am looking for a performance mod that is easy and won't break my gun. The Alpha Trooper has poor performance so I want to upgrade it to make it better. I know I can get a Retaliator that is cheaper and has better stock performance but I like that the alpha trooper has the pump action for easy fast fire rate unlike the Retaliator. So please tell me the BEST easy performance mod that won't break my gun. Thanks
